Refu’ah shleima!

I always delight in reading your reminder: "This is Life as a Sacred Text, an expansive, loving, everybody-celebrating, nobody-diminished, justice-centered voyage into one of the world’s most ancient and holy books."

May we all have a transformational experience, in some minute degree, that lives this commitment.

May God be with you through these days - and may it all strengthen you to engage life and hope and joy in full measure. I am truly enjoying This is Life as a Sacred Text....

A smooth and save healing. Thank you for Jewish wisdom you have provided. Glad to see trans-people supported.

Personally, I like “Chanukah.” I don’t expect agreement on that, but taking a step back, can we agree that the English spelling should have eight letters to correspond to the eight days and to filter out some of the more ridiculous options. That leaves us with:

Chanukah

Hanukkah

Hannukah

I suppose also Hannukka, but I don’t think anybody likes that version.

Give yourself plenty of time to rest, after your procedure. Take it from one who knows. Happy Hanukkah, dear Rabbi

I pray things go well for you. I too am facing a minor procedure myself in early 2024. Like you, nothing urgent or life threatening. Peace and hope to all, no matter what you are celebrating.
